What voltage & frequency is used in South Africa?
The voltage in South Africa is 230 volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you are bringing appliances, electronics or tools from the United States or anywhere else with a 110-volt current, you will need a voltage converter or you’ll burn out whatever you plug in.
When travelling from the UK you can use your appliances as the standard voltage is more or less the same in the UK as it is South Africa. 220 volts vs 230 volts.
